Anderson Ranch, Aspen CO, 2001
Anderson Ranch is located in Snowmass Village, Colorado, 10 miles west of Aspen. Formerly a turn-of-the-century cattle and sheep ranch, Anderson Ranch was transformed into an artists' community in 1974. Harry Teague Architects sensitively adapted the old ranch buildings into artists' studios. Our approach to the signage was to respect the adhoc, rustic aesthetic and spirit of the place through our use of materials and fabrication methods. The signs are made of unfinished cold rolled steel and rusted corten steel. The attachment to the various wall surfaces is simple, direct and honest.
